MS Football Results - Sept 10, 2020 vs. Lindsay


The Callisburg Middle School football teams opened their 2020 campaign by defeating Lindsay in both the 7th and 8th grade games. 7th won 38-6 and 8th won 26-24.


7th Grade opened the game scoring on the first play from scrimmage with a 70 yard run by Riley Reed. After the defense held, Reed took the punt 45 yards for the second score of the game. Aden Ramirez scored on a 90 yard run from scrimmage and Payton Mathews added the two point conversion to put them up 20-0 at halftime. River Joyce had a long run on a reverse in the third quarter that set up the 10 yard touchdown run by Reed. Ramirez scored on a 62 yard run in second half and Reed returned another punt 50 yards to round out the scoring. The defense played outstanding holding Lindsay to one touchdown. Tyler White, Gustavo Perez, Tegan Lindsey, and Payton Mathews led the way on defense.


8th played a tough opponent in Lindsay. Jace Bower opened the scoring by catching a 40 yard pass from Tripp Hazel. Bowers scored again on the option pitch from Hazel and took it 30 yards for the second score. Hazel came up with a big fumble on defense and returned it 45 yards for the touchdown. The defense came up with four takeaways last night and played very physical behind Hudson Arrington, Pepe Aguilar, Clayton Winters, Chandler Hemenway and the rest of the Wildcat Defense. The Wildcats finished the scoring on the night from an option run by Patrick Singleton who took it 25 yards for the score.
