Asynchronous Learning

Attendance
 
Students will frequently and consistently use the LMS provided. The expectation will be a full day of instruction via asynchronous learning activities collected through teacher assigned lessons while engaging with and supporting students through classroom discussions, online lessons, and the completion of assignments. Engagement (attendance) will be collected through these methods of lesson delivery on a daily basis. Students will be expected to complete and turn in daily work to receive credit for the day. 
 
Attendance will be taken daily in Gradebook, as determined through engagement. Any progress made over a 24-hour day (midnight-11:59pm) can be counted for daily engagement. 
 
 
Active Engagement
 
Active engagement means a student is active in his/her coursework. The student is marked present in each course they are enrolled when the following items have bee achieved. Any progress made over a 24-hour day (midnight-11:59pm) can be counted for daily engagement. 
 
1. Completion of lessons - activities, assessments, projects on a daily basis
2. Attending synchronous sessions for tutoring, intervention, enrichment
3. Or daily contact with the teacher
 
A teacher or campus representative will input the student's attendance into Gradebook, based on student's engagement. Course completion is based on demonstration of academic proficiency with passing grades equivalent of 70% or above on a 100 point scale. 

Please follow the instructions below to log your student into their Google account. We will be using google classroom this school year, your students will receive an invitation from each of their teachers to join their google classroom. Each teacher will administer assignments through this platform, please log in and check it daily for assignments. 


Step 1: Go to Google Chrome web browser and type in Gmail sign in


Step 2: Log into Gmail:

USERNAME: first initial last name @cisdtx.net

EX: John Smith: jsmith@cisdtx.net

PASSWORD: Cisd1234 

**** the ā€œCā€ is capitalized

**** PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE THEIR PASSWORD, IN CASE WE HAVE TO RECOVER THEIR INFORMATION IT STAYS THE SAME


Step 3: Check email for Google Classroom invitations from teachers.

To login in to Edgenuity, either click on the blue logo to the side of go to https://www.edgenuity.com/login/


Username for each student will be their lastname@cisdtx.net. The password should be the student's initials and lunch number
